During her first year at Howard University, Cyan interned for One Story Up, a New York-based production company founded by Oscar winner Roger Ross Williams. There she contributed to the development, pre-production and post-productions teams on various projects, including the HBO Special “Between the World and Me.” The following year she wrote, directed, shot, and edited her first narrative, “Side Effects,” which got selected for five film festivals worldwide. During an interview with Trillvision, she credited the influence of one of her favorite artists Pablo Picasso, “…learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist.”

Cyan's HBCU in LA Finalist video

The following fall Cyan was thrilled to be accepted into the Howard Entertainment program. During her spring semester she applied knowledge gained from expert guest speakers towards a capstone project that her group presented to a panel of Amazon executives at the end of the semester. That summer she accepted the physical production internship on the international movies team at Amazon Studios in LA. There, she was solely responsible for 4 complex scheduling and data analysis projects that she presented at the end of the summer. Most recently, she was selected for the HBCU in LA program and is excited to apply her skills and passions at one of their partner companies. Currently, she is in her final semester at Howard University as a TV & Film major, Africana Studies minor.
